Who knows the grief, what it means, when one’s own begins to forsake.

My Master’s grace, my servitude, my poverty’s flame,
The heart finds joy, yet it feels like a madman’s stormy ache.

In heaps of ash, a caravan of embers still resides,
Burnt yet unquenched, such is the rising of moths awake.

Daily I pass the path of tresses, where a moon descends,
Nights upon nights, Arabian nights, in heaven’s fall they partake.

That war lies yonder, in genetic engineering’s domain,
At seventy, to believe in childhood, a gift the noble take.

A quantum emitter warmed today’s cup of tea,
Beloved, to drink with you, knowing the soul of every wish we make.

इन सबके बीच ग़ज़ल की “टूटन और उठान” की द्वैत-यात्रा निरंतर चलती रहती है।
