When we harness high-level technologies, such as N-ultra quantum applications, for destruction, we inadvertently erode the very sources of our “Life-Ganges” and “Annapurna” (abundance). The emissions and geological disturbances caused by modern combat directly accelerate the instability of our glaciers.

The fleets exploding in the Strait of Hormuz, the recurring thunders of missile blasts, are but the echoes of my own heart screaming. We are forced to remain deaf despite hearing, and blind despite seeing. You have lit a lamp in the temple; has that stone idol, while defining my identity, received a prostration from you like the ‘Wadd Haq Rabi’a Al-Adawiyyia’?
‘Insha-Allah’ may not be in my conviction, nor in your faith, but the moment our love is reflected in the ‘Mirror of the Soul’ (Dakhil-e-Darpan), we shall realise through faith that we have received a reward of worship, a gift of love: Alhamdulillah!
Why must we mention that the conflict between ‘God’ and ‘Allah’ still persists among us? Oil, land, sky, fire, water, and air, the very elements for which the world is at war, could be managed with peace and shared from the heart, a possibility that exists at every moment.
Why have we been thirsty for each other’s lives for ages? Borders, nations, frontiers, politics, religions, cultures, colours, attire, and culinary habits: these fundamental traits keep us apart, even though they are the very foundations of the uniqueness that should unite our hearts in joy. Can we ever build this understanding?
People derive ‘Knowledge’ from the Vedas, but Buddha taught us to truly ‘see’ by calling it ‘Vedana’ (Sensation/Perception). Yet, we continue to fight by dividing these truths into religion and politics. From the era of the Buddha through the reigns of the Greco-Bactrians and the Byzantines, up to the Renaissance, perceptions shifted.
By the 18th and 19th centuries, a blatant conflict emerged. We were trapped in the quagmire of orthodox ‘Materialism’ through industrial and classical scientific progress. Adam Smith’s Wealth of Nations and Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs turned us into rigid materialist disciples of Freudian and Watsonian psychology.

क्या ज़िक्र करें कि अब भी हमारे बीच गॉड और अल्लाह के लिए तकरार चल रही है। तेल, ज़मीं, आसमाँ, आग, पानी और हवा जिस बात के लिए दुनिया भर में जंग छिड़ी हुई है, महज़ दिल से मिल-बाँटकर हम अमन से अमलदार हो सकने की गुंजाइश हमारे पास हर वक्त मौजूद होते हुए भी! क्यों जान पर जान उतार आए हैं हम ज़माने से?
बॉर्डर्स, क़ौम, सरहदें, सियासतें, मज़ाहिब, तहज़ीबें, रंगों-लिबास और खान-पान के सलीके जैसी बुनियादी बातें हमें दूर करती रहीं, जबकि वे सब बातें हमारे अनोखेपन से हमें खुश रखने वाली दिलों के जोड़ की बुनियादें हैं। क्या हम यह समझ बना पाएंगे?
वेदों से मतलब लोग ज्ञान की बात निकालते हैं। बुद्ध ने इसी बात को ‘वेदना’ कहकर देखना सिखाया। और हम इन बातों को धर्म और राजनीति में बाँटकर अलग-अलग समझने में लड़ते रहे हैं। ज़ाहिर है बुद्ध की तारीख से लेकर रूहानी यूनानी, बैक्ट्रियन, वाइज़ेन्टाइन की हुक्मरानी तक और ‘रेनेसां’ (पुनर्जागरण) आते-आते समझ में कुछ तब्दीली नज़र आई।
हमें अठारहवीं-उन्नीसवीं सदी तक इन समझों के बीच खुला टकराव देखने को मिलता है। तब तक हम इंडस्ट्री, तकनीक और क्लासिकल साइंस की तरक्की के ज़रिए ‘मटेरियलिज़्म’ (भौतिकवाद) के रूढ़िवादी चिंतन की दलदल में फँस चुके थे, जब से एडम स्मिथ की ‘वेल्थ ऑफ़ नेशंस’ और मास्लो की ‘नीड थ्योरी’ ने हमें और सख्ती से कट्टर मटेरियलिस्ट, फ्रायडियन और वॉटसन के साइको-डिसिपल्स (Psychology disciples) बना डाला।
