भोरकी सुकुंभरी ताजी सांस तुंहै मेरी शायरी, 
संजिदा होनेकी मेरी आभाष तुंहै मेरी शायरी! 
            जागतेहिं हर जर्रा जहनमे वही धुन गुनगुनाए, 
            दर्द ओैर दवा दोनो एहसास तुंहै मेरी शायरी! 
देखुँ सभीतो दुःखियारे किसिनकिसि बातका, 
मेरी दुःखदर्दबहुतबडी खासतुंहै मेरी शायरी! 
            अमन चैन खुसी ओैर गम जहनो-रुह दिदारी, 
            चल्ते धडकनोंमे तेरी निवास तुंहै मेरी शायरी! 
मिस्रामिस्रा उलावसानी लफ्जोंहर्फ बहरकरुँ, 
रागिनी रागोंकी स्वर निश्वास तुंहै मेरी शायरी! 
            आजकी चाय ठण्डीमे बनगयी दोपहरकीधूप, 
            सजनी महकी बहकी सुवास तुंहै मेरी शायरी!
