रात हो तुम बडा दिलकस अंधेरी हो,
पुरी अहमियतसे हमे हरतर्फ घेरी हो!
            तनहा गुमसुम रहना कठीन बातनहि,
            जुगनुहै तारे चाँद सितारें घेरेघनेरी हो!
ख्वाम्खा डरतेहैं सब तुम्हारी शक्लसे,
सन्नाटेमे दुरसे आरहि अर्जगुजारी हो!
             फिर भर निंद आँखोंमे सपने जागेहुवे,
             वही बात तुम सिर्फ अपना हमारी हो!
मिलोगी नहि कभी रातकी स्वप्न परी,
जानताहुँ देखके लाइलाज बेमारी हो!
             एक तलब चायकि आजभी सुबह तुं,
             हमनवांदिलनसिं तुमहिं वफादारी हो!

A night you are so attractive to me, what darkness—arrested totally from all around my being artless! Not so difficult a matter to resume apart and alone in the seclusions. Blinking flicking fire flies in unisons.

The firefly, the star, the moon, and the galaxies are spread deep and dense. People fear you and your outlook for no reasons. Piercing the serenity of night a cry comes from so far off younders.

And full of eyes, sleeps and dreams all awake. The matter fact is the same that ’tis only and only you are mine oh truthful not for false or fake. Oh, dream angel, I know, though I feel but won’t see you for sure.

Clear to me, I see you are an incurable ailment to me. An addiction you are of my life, a cup of hot tea every morning special tea.
